Hardwick Park

I went to Hardwick Park for the day to continue research for my project of line, pattern, form and texture. I wanted to capture some great images in the sunlight since it was such a beautiful day. I caught some good images, I especially like the close up of the rock stone as I feel it looks like skulls formed into a wall. I also like the trees cast against the sunlit background.

Line, Form, Pattern and Texture

For my current project in my course, we have to create a series of images that show or represent, either, line, form, pattern and texture. These images also have to be abstract and can contain a combination of all four. Doing this project has opened up my mind to these aspects and how to look for them within a composition. As well I have experimented with up close photography as well as lighting, just using a bare bulb table lamp. This gave me a similar effect as to using professional lighting. I intend to go out again over the weekend to capture some more images that contain these aspects.

For these images I have photographed simple household objects like a scarf, pineapple, thread, containers, old cameras etc. I have also looked at decaying objects like an old pumpkin we had outside. Just from using simple objects I am surprised at the images I have managed to create from them.

I hope you can see the aspects I have tried to capture in the following images.

Portraits

I re shot some more portraits today with a different model, Melissa. I went for a darker backdrop and used props to add to the compostiton! I feel the images work well and I felt more comfortable and confident doing these a second time round! Hopefully my next ones will be even better.

Water Drops

A few weeks ago on my photography course we set up an experiment of capturing water droplets. We used a tripod on a desk, placed a food bag suspended from beneath it and placed a tray of water below. We pin pricked the bag so only small droplets were released. Setting my camera at f22 and 1/250 and using a pop flash I was able to capture the droplets hitting the water quick enough. I was so impressed with the outcome, at first I didn't think it would work but the final images are beautiful, I have also edited them to enhance the colours. I hope you like them.

Reconstruction of Flowers

For my final module at University I have decided to use florals however in a different way instead of normally just photographing/drawing them as a whole and head on, I instead deconstructed some flowers and put different ones back together either to make a whole flower or a flat pattern. I think this idea worked really well and I am pleased with the outcome of the Images and should be interesting to draw!
